> While most people were watching a FOOTball game across the street, those of us with civic conscience were instructing young children on the more mundane aspects of life - like the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!! :) Good party, good parents and children, but, sadly, bad viewing because of the increased light pollution of Temecula. :(

NOAA-L Educators' Conference

> Ritter was invited to the Educators Conference leading to the launch of NOAA's latest weather satellite NOAA-L. Lots of pluses - great time, good food, great conversations, lots o' learning. One MASSIVE disappointment: At T-10 minutes (about 3.15 in the morning) the launch was stood down due to some bonehead error. It launched successfully the NEXT day, of course. Temecula Valley Museum Star Party

> Groovy time had by all at Temecula Valley Museum in Old Town depite having lots of lights and no planets. Temecula Valley Astronomers, kindred spirits, joined in the festivities.
